We are preparing to launch a new study!
This online research will investigate women’s experiences with the medical system during childbirth. We will be recruiting pregnant women in the third trimester across Canada, and will follow them up to three months postpartum. Throughout this time, we will assess a variety of factors related to the experience of childbirth, medical interactions, and mental health symptoms. This research hopes to clarify the types of medical experiences that are seen as betrayal and negatively affect women postpartum. In addition, we hope to understand individual differences that influence how women interpret their healthcare experiences. Ultimately, results of this research will highlight areas where medical systems can improve quality of care to better support patients and to help alleviate mental health symptoms postpartum.
