Biographical Info
Kayla is currently a final year medical student at the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to embarking on her journey to medicine, Kayla was both a volunteer and Bachelor of Science Honours student in the SCHT Lab. In the Fall of 2017, supervised by Dr. Bridget Klest and Andreea Tamaian, she studied the impacts of microaggressions on university students with self-identified abilities.
Kayla has furthered her research endeavors to explore psychosocial adjuncts which may be used in the treatment of opioid use disorder. Outside of her studies, Kayla is a member of the Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine interest groups at the College of Medicine and volunteers her time as a mentor for other students.
